The need to consult a vast and wide variety of people and stakeholders is part of normal procedures to achieve sustainable changes in a problem situation or to design action programs and public funding initiatives.
Decision making in development & funding bodies is a much more complex process than in most usual business organisations. Given the scope of problems normally addressed, MBA rules of thumb simply do not apply. Creativity, systems thinking and emotional intelligence are much needed skills for a new breed of managers to become successful.
